Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger's transition team has its work cut out for it.

About 1,000 positions must be filled in Schwarzenegger's camp--and fast.

Four county residents--Republicans Gerry Parsky, Jessie Knight, Jeff Sedivec, and Charlene Zettel--were named to the transition team to help scour the state and find "the best of the best" to serve in senior positions for the new governor.

But bringing on a whole new team so quickly may pose many challenges, said Assemblywoman Christine Kehoe, D-San Diego.

As his first move, the governor-elect named his chief of staff on Oct. 22. He chose health-care executive Patricia T. Clarey, 50, who served as deputy chief of staff to former Gov. Pete Wilson in the mid-1990s.
