Elva Reents
ELMIRA - The funeral will be held Sept. 3 for Elva N. Reents of Elmira, who died Aug. 28 of cancer. She was 75.
Reents was born June 7, 1928, in Roberts County, S.D., to Edward and Mary Harms Tietjen.
She married Willard Reents in Corona, S.D., on Oct. 10, 1956.
Reents, a homemaker, lived in Milbank, S.D., before moving to the Elmira area 38 years ago.
Her interests included reading the Bible, beachcombing, gardening and cooking. Her specialty was chocolate chip cookies.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Thomas, and a daughter, Mary Spratt, both of Elmira; two brothers, Larry Tietjen of Stockholm, S.D., and Dean Tietjen of Brandon, S.D.; a sister, Helen Coman of Peabody, Kan.; five grandchildren; and one great- grandchild.
