When Riley West does a commercial, you don't forget it.
West, the 55-year-old patriarch of Riley's Real Wood Furniture on West 11th Avenue, has taken a chain saw to the legs of a chair. He's appeared in a nightshirt, tucked into bed.
He's even portrayed Vanna White, which used to slay 'em down at the bank.
"I had gals at the bank saying, 'Is that Riley's sister doing Vanna White?' ' recalled Lisa West, 54, Riley's wife and co-owner of the business. "And I'd say, 'No, that's Riley.' '
Riley West is the entrepreneurial engine behind a business enterprise that, in various incarnations, is more than 30 years old.
But he's also got plenty of support from the family tree: Lisa crunches the numbers and their sons, Nathan and Josh, handle everything from driving the truck to making the sale.
