Shirley Kitts
REEDSPORT - Shirley Kitts of Reedsport died Sept. 24 of cancer. She was 67.
Kitts was born Sept. 26, 1935, in Stockton, Calif., to Virgil and Georgia Lang Pierce. She married Karl Kitts in Reedsport on Feb. 4, 1993.
She lived in this area for 45 years, and she enjoyed socializing and playing bingo and keno. She was a member of an Eagles Lodge and a Moose Lodge.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Steve, Michael and Douglas Harris; four daughters, Candace Alexander, Danita Miller, Arleta Boyter and Shirleen Hugg; two brothers, Bob and Chuck Pierce; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
No service is planned. Dunes Memorial Chapel in Reedsport is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lower Umpqua Hospice in Reedsport.
Margaret Warzecha
SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be held Oct. 1 for Margaret Ann Warzecha of Springfield, who died Sept. 27 of age-related causes. She was 83.
Warzecha was born March 4, 1920, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Walter and Freida Sutter Henning. She married Zigmund "Zeke" Warzecha in Kodiak, Alaska, on April 12, 1941. He died in September 1990.
She graduated from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee in 1938. She lived in Wisconsin and Alaska before moving to Oregon. She lived in Coos Bay for 40 years and in Forest Grove for 10 years before settling in Springfield in 2000 to be near a son and his wife.
She was the mother of 10 children, and her interests included following their adventures. She worked for Bay Area Hospital for 10 years until her retirement in 1982. She once wrote an article about the Bandon cranberry industry, which was included in a book. She was an avid reader of pioneer history and she enjoyed baking bread and studying the history of the West Coast. She also enjoyed hiking and camping with her family.
Survivors include six sons, Charles of Springfield, Steve of Phoenix, Ariz., John of McMinnville, David of Forest Grove, Daniel of Gaston and Tony of Coos Bay; four daughters, Barbara Price of Las Vegas, Christine Bradley and Ramona Stanley, both of Forest Grove, and Cecelia Blake of Dallas, Ore.; three sisters, Barbara Juelich of Green Bay, Wis., Elizabeth Gersten of Albany and Priscilla Stewart of Bend; 24 grandchildren; and 16 great-grand- children.
