Joseph Triplett
A memorial service will be held Aug. 2 for Joseph L. "Lem" Triplett of Eugene, who died July 26 of cancer. He was 83.
Triplett was born Oct. 10, 1919, in Plentywood, Mont., to Henry and Edna West Triplett. He married Celeste Huelshoff in Coos Bay on Sept. 10, 1939.
He served in the Army Air Corps. He lived in Kalispell, Mont., until 1937, when he moved to Coos Bay. He settled in Eugene in 1997.
He owned and operated several meat businesses in Coos Bay, and he worked as a Mayflower agent and real estate agent, also in Coos Bay.
He enjoyed farming, ranching and making people laugh. He was a member of the Coos Bay Mounted Sheriff's Posse, and he was a lifetime member of an Elks Lodge and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ken of Portland; a daughter, Sandi Schriver of Elma, Wash.; two brothers, Ed of Kalispell and Tom of Whitefish, Mont.; three sisters, Gertrude Rose of Coquille, Belle Carter of Bend and Frances Gibbs of Glen Rose,Texas; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Saturday's service will be held at 1 p.m. at the Eugene Hotel. Burial will be at the Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell. Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Sacred Heart.
Camille Mathews
CRESWELL - A memorial service will be held Aug. 1 for Camille Mathews of Creswell, who died July 22 from injuries she suffered in an automobile accident. She was 43.
Mathews was born Jan. 12, 1960, in Seattle to Russell and Delores McGlothlin Browning. She married David Mathews in Eugene on April 13, 1999.
She lived in Lane County for most of her life. She enjoyed going on scenic trips to high lakes and her Chihuahua, Kia. She also enjoyed spending time with her husband and children. She will be remembered as a super homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; her parents; three sons, Guy Metz and Pat and Gary...
