LAUREL -- The computer division of Howard Industries (HI) has launched an innovative electronic medication call that integrates into one unit all of the items that hospitals use for dispensing medication and allows hospitals to meet the new bar code medication dispensing requirement of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Howard Computers has also been awarded a contract to provide Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon. Ga., with 1,500 computers and network services to install the computers.

Branching into the hospital and health care field is just one of the thrusts by the computer divisions--the newest of the company's four divisions--which started production in December 1998. After a recent upgrade, they now manufacture 12,000 units per month at their state-of-the-art ISO 9001-certified assembly facility--desktop work stations, laptops, servers, storage components, as well as related equipment and accessories.
