New coach Courtney DeBolt, a former Chicago Thunder player in the United States Professional Volleyball League, hopes to instill a winning attitude in the Bison volleyball program.

"We're shooting high," said DeBolt, a former Stevenson High School and Michigan State standout. "We've got a lot to learn skill-wise. We have a lot of multi-sport athletes and they've had success in other sports. We'd like to see them carry that over to volleyball."

DeBolt will have 10 seniors in her first season. That group includes Ashley Sandstead (5-10 senior OH), Kristina Wrezel (5-11 senior OH), Deanna Mocchi (5-10 senior MH), Stephanie Sanecki (5-6 senior setter), Stephanie Murman (5-9 senior OH), Cheryl Johnson (5-4 senior defensive specialist), Joanna Weber (5-5 senior defensive specialist), Emily Zak (5-8 senior OH), Erin O'Sullivan (5-8 senior RS) and Alyssa Kritzman (5-9 senior setter).

Rounding out the roster are junior middle blocker Sara Warner (5-11), junior defensive specialist Marielle Ruscitti (5-6) and sophomore OH Michelle Bury (5-5).

"That will take care of itself if we're focused on what we have to do," she said. "The kids are working real hard at being a team, communicating and doing the things on the court to make volleyball work. They've adjusted real well to all the new things and they're seeing things work well with hard work."

DeBolt told her players all six starting spots are open....
