SALEM - After struggling Thursday through a marathon tax-reform discussion, lawmakers finished the day no closer to determining whether to go ahead with a June special session to consider one or more of the proposals.

For nearly five hours, the committee discussed details of various proposals and debated whether any of them could win support from lawmakers and prevail in a statewide vote if referred to the ballot.

Despite the struggle to come up with a consensus, lawmakers agreed to meet again Thursday and again May 11.
