INDIANOLA--At Double Quick University, located in the Charles W. Capps Jr. Technology Center in Indianola, employees ring up sales, learn customer service and robbery prevention techniques, and receive training on how to sell alcohol and tobacco. At the end of three days, trainees are ready to face the real world.

"All of our new hires train at the Capps Center," said Tom Gresham, president and CEO of Double Quick in Indianola, the first company to use the facility after it opened in October 2001. "We built a simulated store setting in a classroom where trainees can get behind a sales counter and use POS (point of sale) machinery and learn other techniques to have a successful start working for our company."

In the last 21 months, nearly 1,000 Double Quick employees have received pre-employment training at the center, said Gresham.
