POPLARVILLE -- Take a random poll of Mississippi contractors regarding challenges they face, and the availability of skilled labor is going to rank near the top.

Over the past decade and beyond, the industry has gone to great lengths to improve construction education in the state and make it more readily available to young people to help ensure a pool of skilled workers in the future. And there is an especially acute need to replace managers and supervisors that are rapidly approaching retirement age.
