Surplus school sale

approved to Lane ESD

The Eugene School Board agreed Wednesday to sell Westmoreland Elementary School to the Lane Education Service District, which envisions the building as a hub for special education programs, both its own and those of other educational organizations that would lease space there.

Lane ESD, which provides a range of services to the county's 16 school districts, will pay the Eugene district $1.4 million for the building and the 5.5 acres on which it sits.
