One has to dig deep to find significant differences between the views of Eugene Water & Electric Board candidates Paul Conte and John Simpson.

Conte, a 56-year-old author and independent software developer, and Simpson, a 45-year-old software engineer, are seeking to represent city Wards 1 and 8 in southwest and south-central Eugene. The incumbent is Patrick Lanning, who is running unopposed for a different seat in the May 18 primary because of redistricting.
