Even the speedy Joey Bonadonna isn't quite as fast as his own metabolism.

"I can't find a way to put on weight," said Bonadonna, unable to take much solace in the fact that most people would love to be in such a predicament.

"I've been the same height and weight for the last three years and I eat all the time, especially my mom's pasta and meat sauce. I'm one of three boys and I eat more than anyone in the family.

"But I've always been the little guy and it kind of bothers me to know that everyone else my age has grown right past me."

Still, Bonadonna usually ends up at the front of the pack.

At 5-foot-7, 145 pounds, Bonadonna might not be the biggest student at Stevenson, but he's very likely the fastest. In fact, the spunky senior is probably one of the fastest high school athletes in all of Lake County - if not the entire state....
