When Gary Hunley, the father of West Aurora sisters Lindsay and Kim Hunley, played softball for a men's team, he was a shortstop.

When Lindsay Hunley, a senior, began playing softball, she played everywhere on the field, but appeared to have a future in pitching.

Naturally, when little sister Kim began taking an interest in the sport, she wanted to be a pitcher, just like her big sister.

These days, things are different, at least for a couple of the Hunleys.

Gary hasn't played softball in almost two years. Lindsay ditched the mound at the end of her sophomore year for a spot at shortstop - just like her father. Kim, however, is still pitching for the Blackhawks.

Whether at shortstop, pitcher or any other spot on the field, softball has always been a part of the Hunley family.
