Kyle Lippo was the kind of football player everyone wanted on their team.

The 12-year-old Round Lake boy practiced hard, never complained and was a proud member of the Lakeland Cardinals heavyweight team in the Junior Football League of Northern Illinois.

"He went above and beyond," said Bob Henry, president of the Cardinals. "He was very gung-ho for a first-year football player."
