DETROIT - Northwest Airlines today announced new service between Grand Rapids, Mich., and Tampa and Orlando, Fla. and between Flint, Mich., and Tampa and Orlando. The flights will begin Dec. 17.

In addition, Northwest will offer new Saturday-only service between Flint and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., beginning Dec. 17.

The new services will be operated with the airlines DC-9 aircraft, with 16 seats in first class and 84 seats in coach class.

We at Northwest are pleased to offer nonstop service between these Florida cities and Grand Rapids and Flint, our second and third largest Michigan markets after our WorldGateway hub at Detroit, said Tom Bach, vice president market planning and Airlink.
