"I do not believe there has been a decision I've made in my adult life that has not been weighed against what (they) would do," said Byrd. "One of my aunts went to nursing school at age 48, and I knew I could get a degree at that age, too."
Born in Louisville, Byrd, 51, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Beck of Noxapater, graduated magna cum laude from Belhaven College in 1999 with a degree in business administration, with her parents, husband Richard and sons Richard Jr. and Chris cheering her on.
