JACKSON -- Ted J. Duckworth, president and managing broker of Duckworth Realty Inc., is leading the historic private effort to renovate the landmark Electric Building in downtown. But his dream of transforming aging downtown high-rises into restored buildings of beauty began years ago. A sampling of success in downtown Jackson: the almost complete $700,000 renovation of the AmSouth building lobby.

Duckworth, who has tackled projects in other areas around the state and the South, including downtowns and suburbs, also has other plans in the works. The Mississippi Business Journal chatted with him about projects in progress, and his thoughts on what it will take to see downtown Jackson flourish once again-around the clock.
