Fifty youth from primarily low-income neighborhoods participated in Houston's first Sprockids Clinic, and they came away smiling. Sprockids is a youth program created by the International Mountain Biking Association. The Greater Houston Off Road Biking Association, Houston Parks and Recreation, and the National Park Service initiated the event as an outreach tool to introduce kids and their parents to the planned Hill at Sims Greenway. The "Hill" is a joint project between the Flood Control District and the Parks Department that will create hilly terrain around a regional flood detention basin and make it a mountain biking park.
