It's not surprising that in the Information Age interest groups have become adept at the manipulation of this fundamental commodity. That manipulation is know as 'spin', because the process rotates truth to the left or, more often these days, the far right, which causes quantum fluctuations in the time-space continuum akin to the left/right spin of fundamental particles and so affects reality itself. A further complication is that current dominant global polity promotes and produces spin that is more often dry than wet. The intended effect of this distortion of the information economy is a scarcity of reality, which is understandably desirable in any civilization at its rancid tertiary phase. Little wonder the Earth is teetering on its axis and drying up.
