One look into the cloudy depths of Centennial Beach and it's clear why the Naperville pool can lay claim to having the best lifeguards in the Midwest.

"We have to take regular lifeguard training to the next level because of the nature of the facility" said Nathan Oostman, a beach supervisor at the former quarry along Jackson Avenue. "It's more of a lakefront setting than a conventional community swimming pool."
