Children in deprived areas will benefit from GBP2.2 million new funding - earmarked for training volunteers who will teach road safety skills in schools, Road Safety Minister, David Jamieson, said today.

Twenty four local authorities are each being offered GBP90,000 over three years to fund the new road safety initiative.
