So many ways to make a baby, and more all the time

Imagine the fertility doctors chatting it up at the pub after a day's work in the clinic.

"How many ways can you think of to make a baby? Well, not including the plain old fun way. How else can you make a baby? Let's count the ways."

"Let's see, now. We can do 'turkey-baster babies.' Don't even need a man--except for his donation. But you can buy sperm on-line, so you don't even have to talk to him to have his baby. A favourite of lesbians."

"That's nothing to brag about, though. It's rather crude, really. Nothing technically fancy. But we can extract eggs from a woman, fertilize them in a dish and transplant them back into her--or someone else--her mother, for example."

"We can spiff that up with ICSI, too. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection. Take a single sperm and inject it right into her egg for him. Fantastic!"

"Well, sure. And we can freeze the sperm first. We can even freeze the egg first. Or, we could freeze them both and wait until the parents are over sixty to mix them together."

"We can mix them together, then freeze them. Somebody can even have somebody else's leftover frozen babies."

"You could wait till you die to have a baby. Freeze your sperm after you're dead...
