Raymond Lindberg
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date for Raymond Lindberg of Eugene, who died Aug. 29 of age-related causes. He was 96.
He was born Dec. 13, 1907, in Alexandria, Minn., to Alvin and Tillie Hegg Lindberg. He attended the University of Minnesota and served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1946.
He married Wilma Goin in Toledo on March 16, 1946. An area resident for 57 years, Lindberg worked as a home builder, and enjoyed travel, reading, classical music and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Eugene Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shirley Torrance of Laguna Beach. Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
S. Warner Kirlin
The memorial service will be Sept. 4 for S. Warner Kirlin of Eugene, who died of leukemia Aug. 27 at age 94.
Kirlin was born July 13, 1910, in Saratoga, Wyo., to Archie A. and Gertrude Irene Warner Kirlin. He married June Dickinson Caldwell in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Aug. 1, 1951.
Kirlin graduated from high school in Fontanelle, Iowa, in 1928. He received a bachelor's degree from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, in 1931, and a master's degree from the University of Iowa in 1938. He did additional graduate work at the University of Iowa and the University of Oregon.
During World War II he was an aviation instructor in the Army Air Force at the University of Minnesota...
