Though one of the rare college football teams that still won't be playing a game this week, Oregon will begin adjusting its practices with the season opener in mind.

There will be more work for the first and second teams, starting with today's two workouts, and less for backups behind those units. There will be increased thought about which freshmen might be held out as redshirts, to preserve a season of their eligibility.

The Ducks will start firming up their kicking and kick return teams, knowing they need to be made up primarily of players destined to be `a starter or prominent reserve,' as UO coach Mike Bellotti said,...
