In late 1997, on a friend's recommendation, I visited Sirino's restaurant in Escondido.

I was well aware of the culinary talents of chef and owner Vincent Grumel, who employs classic French techniques to create wonderful meals. Back then, when I recommended this restaurant to friends, I told them the food was excellent, though the atmosphere could be improved.

Recently I was invited back to Vincent's restaurant. My first impression was, "Wow," as I took in the restaurant's beautiful new look. And, yes, the food is still the delicious mouth-watering French-California cuisine that I remembered from the past.

Today Sirino's is decorated in rich dark wood just like the delightful restaurants you find in the French countryside.
