MINNEAPOLIS -- MINNEAPOLIS, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- More Washington students will have help in funding their college education, thanks to the Community Scholarship Mobilization grant being awarded to Washington Dollars for Scholars(R) by its parent organization, Scholarship America(SM), at the Light the Fire Luncheon being held at noon at Seahawks Stadium in Seattle, Washington, on May 14, 2003. The grant will use the interest from an approximately $1 million endowment grant from the U.S. Department of Education over the next two years to give support to help 18 communities develop Dollars for Scholars chapters. More than 50 percent of the new chapters will be in targeted low-income areas including neighborhoods in Seattle and South King County, Grays Harbor County, Yakima Valley,...
