He won't wear a cap and gown and walk through graduation ceremonies with the other students Saturday at the University of Oregon, or listen to the commencement speeches. He's done all that before, four years ago, his mother and grandmother out from Atlanta for the festivities.

After all, sociology major Yasir Rosemond needed only one more class for his diploma, Math 107, and he'd take it that summer, the summer of 1999.

Except, his mind consumed with a single goal - playing in the NBA - Rosemond blew the math class. His life was in transition then; the mercurial guard was leaving the Oregon program for Seattle Pacific University, a Division II program, to put up big numbers in his final year of college eligibility.

The diploma could wait, and it has, through most of a season in Seattle, and different jobs, and a return to Atlanta, and a couple of trips to play professional basketball in Brazil.

Waited until now.
