CHARLESTON - A healthy helping of Justin Harrison has put Wheaton Warrenville South into title contention in the Class AA Boys Track and Field Meet.

In Friday's preliminaries at Eastern Illinois University's O'Brien Stadium, the lanky junior ran a personal best in his only open race, the 400-meter run he completed in 47.99 seconds.

On a day of both sunshine and slight drizzle, plus a sturdy breeze whipping down the homestretch, Harrison also led off a qualifying 400-meter relay and anchored 800- and 1,600-meter relays to help the Tigers place seven finalists, tied with Edwardsville and Rock Island behind the nine Saturday qualifiers placed by two- time defending...
