OXFORD -- Writer David Magee had already made the career decision that led to his writing of "Turnaround: How Carlos Ghosn Rescued Nissan" before he ever met Ghosn on a tour of Mississippi.

"I had decided maybe a year or two before I did it that I was going to start writing books -- and business is what I knew," said Magee, a freelancer and former writer for The Associated Press, The Clarion-Ledger and the Oxford Eagle.

While Magee was doing his research on the publishing business, he was invited to show Carlos Ghosn around Oxford during the fall of 2001 when the Nissan CEO began touring Mississippi in preparation to locate Nissan's newest auto plant in the state.
