CANTON -- Canton may well be a "charming Southern small town," but one that is slowly metamorphosing into a growing metropolis, said Arnel D. Bolden, president of the City of Canton Chamber of Commerce.

"We certainly don't want this town to lose its identity, and therefore we have to be very careful with the types of growth that we allow the city to take," said Bolden. "Certainly we want as much commercial, retail and residential developments as possible, but we also want to maintain the historic sites Canton is known for."
