IN THE DELTA -- Wide open, flat land with plenty of available workforce -- the Mississippi Delta is fertile ground for attracting large manufacturers and their suppliers. And while the all-Delta counties have had only one tier two Nissan supplier set up shop in the region so far, many feel that Nissan's impact on the area is yet to be fully felt and that it is primed to be a major player in luring other superprojects, including auto makers.
