Evelyn Ferrill
SPRINGFIELD - The graveside service will be held June 2 for Evelyn Joy Ferrill of Springfield, who died May 29 of age-related causes. She was 80.
Ferrill was born April 12, 1923, in Lacamas, Wash., to Lewis and Daisy Christian Brooks. She married Curtis Ferrill in Cottage Grove on April 11, 1942. He died April 9, 1990.
She graduated from high school. She lived in Washington and Myrtle Point before settling in this area in 1941.
She was a homemaker, and her interests included ceramics. She enjoyed the ocean and spending time at the beach. She especially enjoyed children, her family and church life. She was a member of the Marcola Community Church.
Survivors include a son, Bennie of Springfield; a daughter, Karen Rollins of Springfield; a sister, Bonnie Reid of Eugene; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield. Monday's service will be held at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Leaburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the McKenize Fire District in Walterville.

A memorial service will be held June 5 for Eleanor Evans Reynolds of Eugene, who died May 29 of age-related causes. She was 84.
