Twice in his young life, Aaron Brooks has put Oregon first.

The point guard from Seattle did so last November, when he signed a letter-of-intent to play basketball for the Ducks, turning down offers from UCLA and the hometown Huskies, among others.

And Brooks did so again recently, opting to devote his summer to basketball and classes at Oregon rather than compete for a berth on the U.S. team for the FIBA Men's Junior World Championships.

The decision was of great import to Oregon coach Ernie Kent, who is also coach of the USA junior team - players 19 and under...
