Statement of Major Philippe Soulie: Good morning to everybody. Shall we start now? In the absence of Irena I'll start this weekly press conference. I've nothing special to report on the daily patrol and training of Concordia teams. You have to know that DSACEUR Admiral Reiner Feist paid a visit yesterday to Concordia and he met this morning the Ministers of Interior and Defence. And that's all from me.

Statement of Craig Ratcliff: OK. Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Actually it's good to be back. It has been a while. And I think some of you thought I've left for good. Some of you might have hoped that I left for good, but I'm back. Yes, I did have a vacation in the United States and a business opportunity for a Conference in Verona, Italy, but we're back.

The Senior Military Representative General Del Manzano wished to express his gratitude to the local media in support to the coverage of the Spanish peacekeepers that died in a plane crash en route from Afghanistan back to Madrid. Apparently he has read some news reports and very much appreciated the support from some of the media that covered that.

There was a memorial service yesterday in private at the Spanish national support element in honor of those peacekeepers yesterday. I think roughly about five o'clock.

We appreciated the support and interest in the Border Conference last week. I think that quite a few of you were down there as well and I think that you've all recognized the great interests among the nations that were represented at the Conference. Sorry, I am a little out of practice.

Certainly the international community and NATO in general were appreciative of the interest in the activity and communication process at the Conference. And I think most parties walked away with a lot of information that they had to digest in order to really fully support the nations and reference to the border strategies.

General Del Manzano had said that as a result really of the Conference that the NATO Advisory Group is really in a much better position to provide military advice to the authorities on border security and smuggling introduction.

Certainly we have a better understanding of the global assessment in the risk...
