Now, this half-hour veterans "variety show" serves 290 communities in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota. It boasts about 3,000 plays on cable outlets per month. All five major veterans groups in Minnesota endorse it.

The show not only tells vets about their issues and activities, it "lets people know veterans are alive and well," Barnhart says. It portrays veterans "caring about other veterans with various programs that will be not just a boost to their ego, but will be a validation of their humanity and what they did for their country."
Vets Visits has therefore gotten popular with both veterans and the general public.
