ServiceMaster Co. is blessing three recently retired officials with generous earthly rewards.

The Downers Grove-based company, which provides lawn and pest control services and also promotes Christian values, entered into lifelong consulting agreements with former CEOs C. William Pollard and Carlos Cantu, both of whom retired from the board on Jan. 24.

Under the contracts detailed in the company's proxy statement, ServiceMaster will pay each an annual salary of $300,000-and their wives will collect $200,000 per year if they outlive their husbands.

The former CEOs also are entitled to other perks, including lifelong coverage under the company's health insurance plan, use of a car and one paid club membership, according to copies of the contracts, included in Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings. ServiceMaster also will pay for a secretary and office through 2008 for Mr. Cantu, 69, and through 2013 for Mr. Pollard, 64.
