Dortha Fullerton

SPRINGFIELD - A celebration of life will be held April 4 for Dortha Martha Fullerton of Springfield, who died March 27 of cancer. She was 93.

Fullerton was born March 16, 1910, in Eugene to Frank and Anna Mounts Bailey. She married Ralph Fullerton in Wendling on Nov. 25, 1931. He died Feb. 9, 1974.

She attended the University of Oregon. She moved to Springfield in 1935 and worked as a clerk for the Springfield School District, where she established a hot lunch program.

She was elected to the Springfield City Council and was once Springfield Woman of the Year. She was an active member of Ebbert Memorial United Methodist Church in Springfield and served as Sunday school superintendent, chairman of the church board and president of the United Methodist Women.

She enjoyed traveling and flower gardening.

Survivors include a son, Earl of Eugene; and a daughter, Marilyn Fullerton of Springfield.

The celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Ebbert Memorial United Methodist Church in Springfield. Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ebbert Memorial United Methodist Church in Springfield.

Elma Gould

Elma Louise Gould of Eugene died March 24 of age-related causes. She was 91.

Gould was born Aug. 27, 1911, in Star, Idaho, to Roy and Grace Shafer Gibbens. She married Willis Gould in Medford on Sept. 29, 1930. He died in 1980.

She lived in Deadwood for 46 years before moving to Florence. She moved to Eugene two years ago. She enjoyed sewing and flowers.

Survivors include two sons, Richard of Swisshome and Roger of Mapleton; a brother, Harvey Gibbens of Salem; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A son, Willis "Skeet," died previously.

Friday's service will be held at 3 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene. Burns' Riverside Chapel/Florence Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Lawrence McCready

Lawrence Edward McCready of Eugene died March 25 of cancer. He was 47.

McCready was born Sept. 23, 1955, in Eugene, to Ira and Florence Kincaid McCready.
