GARUDA INDONESIA TO SLASH SERVICES TO MIDDLE EAST

JAKARTA - Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia plans to reduce its service to the Middle East from eight to two flights a week following a fall in the number of passengers to the region, commercial director Bachrul Hakim said here on Thursday.

"The loadfactor in the route to the Middle East has sharply dropped because of the war in Iraq and the government's policy on employment to the Middle East," he said.
