Jaklyn Larsen, 20, of Eugene, grew up in a family of cooks. Her parents, Annette and Gary Trucke of Creswell, owned a deli and now operate Annette's Catering. Larsen works as a part-time clerk at the Christian Supply store at Valley River Center. She and husband Todd have a 6-month son, Creed.

Specialty: "My cheesecakes are definitely my specialty," Larsen said. "Most desserts, though. I love baking."

Puff pastry, pies, cakes, cookies and the chocolate roll recipe she shares with readers today all are examples.

"And I also make a lot of really nice candies. That's the other thing I do," she said.
