It was a good day for the league-leading Churchill softball team.

Jodi Parmer continued her hot hitting, Rachel Steigleman hit her third home run of the season and the Lancers beat North Eugene for the first time in four years.

And it took only two pitches.

Parmer crushed the first pitch of the game down the left-field line for a ground-rule double and came home when Steigleman lined the second pitch to the same spot. That gave the Lancers a 1-0 lead that turned into a 6-0 Midwestern League shutout over the host Highlanders.
