William Dever Sr.
WESTFIR - The graveside service will be held May 3 for William J. Dever Sr., of Westfir, who died April 17 of cancer. He was 79.
Dever was born June 11, 1923, in Philadelphia to Bernard and Elizabeth Pewters Dever.
He served in the Army with the rank of master sergeant. He lived in this area for 30 years and was a former secretary of Westoak Federal Credit Union.
Survivors include five daughters, Beth Edmunds of Bend, Cecelia Dever of Bothell, Wash., Trish Fischer of Yakima, Wash., Kathleen O'Dever-Lewis of Naches, Wash., and Maureen Nelson of Ellensburg, Wash.; a son, Bill Jr., of Springfield; a sister, Catherine Devereaux of Newport; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A recitation of the rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Oakridge. Saturday's service will be held at 2 p.m. at Forestvale Memorial Park in Oakridge. Oakridge Chapel of the Woods Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements....
