BARILLAS, Guatemala - The doctors, dentists and surgeons are the stars of this show, with nurses providing invaluable unsung support and interpreters bridging the language barrier.

But nothing gets done without the kitchen crew to keep everybody fed and the MacGyvers to make sure everything works.

The Cascade Medical Team brought along a 10-person kitchen crew to Barillas, led by Frank Krebs, owner of the Mission Mexican Restaurant in Eugene. He was in charge of preparing about 360 meals a day, or 2,800 meals in a week's time.
