Many travel agencies on this year's San Diego Business Journal List of Travel Agencies say air travel is down because of new security concerns and safety issues arising from situations in China, the Middle East, and Africa -- countries the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs has recently released travel warnings about on its Web site.

The List, which is ranked on 2002 air ticket sales, has 12 travel agencies -- eight of which experienced a decline in air ticket sales compared with 2001.
