This Downtown ballpark sentimentality thing has gone just a little too far.

The Padres open Petco Park in Downtown next spring, and you'd think people would be more concerned with the goings-on inside the stadium, like which Swinging Friar will win the nightly race. Instead, people are fretting over a building outside the stadium.

The concern is how big the building will be, which leads me to believe they're actually worried about how many people will be freeloading at the Padres' expense.

The folks at the Centre City Development Corp. don't want this building to be any taller than six stories, but they may want to reconsider, given the fact that with the way the Padres have played the past few...
