Ascend Technologies, the creator of the popular Ascend fund-raising software program, has joined the RuffaloCODY software division. Ascend has been a leader in providing gift and record management for non-profit institutions and universities located throughout the United States.
RuffaloCODY has offered fund-raising systems since 2000 when University Technology Systems and the SUMMIT system became a part of the company. SUMMIT and Ascend complement one another.
Ascend was originally founded in 1989 as the Iowa System by the University of Iowa and developed software to operate on the AS 400 computer from IBM. Ascend Technologies was headquartered in Coralville, Iowa, a mere 20 miles from the RuffaloCODY offices in Cedar Rapids. Proximity was one of the many reasons that made it appealing to join forces.
While there are many functions that both the SUMMIT and ASCEND systems do well, there are several things that are unique to each and to the marketplace overall. Customers using either system will benefit from the availability of new functions provided by the other.
