Before news reports surfaced that the debt load of Maxxim Medical, Clearwater, Fla., led it to reorganize using $20 million in additional financing from its bankers, the company contacted its GPO customers, distributors and suppliers, warned them of the impending filing, and reassured them that neither customer orders nor supplier payments would be affected.
As a result, any concerns groups have about the future of Maxxim are tempered with expressions of support and optimism that the company will pull through, while keeping its hospital customers supplied.
