MCCOMB -- It could 'have been yet another dismal headline: "Textile plant closes, 75 out of work." Instead, after Kellwood decided to close a mill in McComb that had operated since 1949, manager Todd Whitley was able to broker a deal to purchase the plant and save the jobs.

Recently a ribbon cutting was held to celebrate the change of ownership of the specialty mill that has 80 customers around the world and produces approximately 85,000 pounds of fabric per week.

"I commend the business decision made by Mr. Whitley today," Gov. Ronnie Musgrove said at the ceremony for the mill that produces fabric for active wear and intimate apparel.
