Matt Farmen, 14, an eighth-grader at Cal Young Middle School, travels to Boca Raton, Fla., this week to compete in the Florida Open International Wheelchair Tennis Championships. For Farman, who took up tennis less than two years ago, and only a few months after a disabling sledding accident, the Florida tourney will be just his third tennis event. Farmen, who also plays basketball with the Eugene Xpress, will compete in open C division and juniors singles and doubles.
