Communities across the country will observe the 2004 National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday by holding get-togethers, block parties and meetings for their residents.

At the different events, people can meet their neighbors and local police officers, learn a little about how to prevent crime and have some fun along the way.

The Fox Valley holds some of the best Night Out events and most of the fun is for free.

If you can't make it to one of the events, police ask you to turn on your outside lights during the night to show that crime will not be tolerated in your neighborhood.
